A student who was one of the victims of the moral policing incident at Someshwar beach recently has filed a complaint with the city police commissioner alleging that a police official at Ullal police station assaulted him. Commissioner Kuldeep Kumar R Jain confirmed that a student had raised a complaint against local police station personnel for improper behaviour. ''We have considered this complaint seriously and I have asked DCP (law and order) to investigate the matter. If any police station personnel is found guilty, disciplinary action will be taken,'' he said. Sources said the student in his complaint said that after he was assaulted by locals, the sub inspector called him to the police station and got his signature on a blank paper. When he questioned the act, the official assaulted him, the complaint said. Three girl students of a para-medical college of the city had gone to Someshwar beach on June 1 evening along with three boys who were their college mates. Some local youths objected to the male students who belonged to a different community being in the company of girls, and assaulted them. Police have arrested seven people in connection with the case.
