The residence permits of refugees from Ukraine who fled the war and received protection status in Germany will be extended until March 4, 2025, according to the interior ministry on Friday. The Bundesrat upper house of parliament had approved the decree from the ministry on Friday, it said in a statement.
This means that those affected do not have to apply for an extension of their residence status, and no associated appointments with the immigration authorities are necessary, added the ministry in a statement. (Writing by Miranda Murray, Editing by Rachel More)
