Kerala Government Orders Probe in Brutal School Ragging Incident

The Kerala government has initiated a probe into a violent ragging incident involving a 10th-grade student in Wayanad. The student was assaulted with a scissor by schoolmates and hospitalized. Education Minister V Sivankutty has directed officials to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure such actions are not tolerated in schools.

The Kerala government has launched an investigation into a severe ragging incident reported by a 10th-grade student in a state-run school located in Wayanad. Allegedly assaulted with a pair of scissors by classmates, the victim sustained injuries and was subsequently hospitalized. Education Minister V Sivankutty has ordered a departmental inquiry, instructing the Joint Director of Education (Academics) A Aboobakar to file a comprehensive report on the matter.

The minister also directed the Deputy Director of Education in Wayanad to visit the school, meet with the victim and his parents, and assess the situation firsthand. Discussions were held with the local police superintendent, the victim's mother, and the president of the school's Parents and Teachers Association (PTA).

Sivankutty emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for ragging on school campuses, assuring strict measures to prevent recurrence of such incidents.
