JNU to Establish Centres for Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain Studies

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is set to open new centres for Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain studies under the School of Sanskrit and Indic Studies. This decision, approved by the Executive Council on May 29, aligns with the National Education Policy 2020 and aims to explore Indian Knowledge Systems.

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has announced the opening of new centres for Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain studies, enhancing its School of Sanskrit and Indic Studies.

This initiative was approved during the Executive Council's meeting on May 29, following recommendations from a committee focused on implementing the National Education Policy 2020 and the Indian Knowledge System.

The move is in line with similar initiatives, including Delhi University's Centre for Hindu Studies and its department for Buddhist Studies, which recently received funding for a Centre for Advanced Studies in Buddhism.
