The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested four MBBS students from AIIMS Patna on Thursday in relation to the ongoing NEET-UG paper leak investigation, officials reported.
Chandan Singh, Rahul Anant, Kumar Shanu—all third-year students—and Karan Jain, a second-year student, were detained following extensive questioning by the CBI team. Authorities reported that these students were apprehended from their hostel rooms in the presence of senior faculty members, who had been notified in advance about the probe requirements.
The CBI also sealed the students' hostel rooms. Director of AIIMS Patna, G K Paul, confirmed the arrests and mentioned that the CBI team had been provided with photographs and mobile numbers of the suspects by a senior officer. The move closely follows the arrest of Pankaj Kumar, a 2017-batch civil engineer from NIT Jamshedpur, and Raju Singh, both implicated in stealing the NEET-UG paper from the NTA trunk in Hazaribagh.
