In a scandal shaking the integrity of the NEET-UG exam, over 240 candidates at a Rajkot center scored more than 600 marks, with some even surpassing 700. A detailed analysis by the National Testing Agency, which conducted the exam, reveals these unprecedented scores while it's under the scanner for alleged irregularities including a paper leak.
Candidates from states like Gujarat, Bihar, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Haryana have seen arrests connected to the alleged NEET-UG paper leak on May 5. These arrests include students, parents, and members of 'paper solver' gangs. In one instance, more than 150 students at a Rajasthan center scored above 600 but below 700 marks.
The Supreme Court mandated that results be masked to verify if aspirants at questionable centers scored higher than others, leading to a retest at one Haryana center. As the court continues to hear petitions on July 22 seeking re-tests and an investigation, the NEET-UG results fallout continues to raise questions about exam fairness and integrity.
