In the aftermath, the headmaster and cluster coordinator were suspended due to alleged negligence. The affected classroom, located in the school's old building, had previously been deemed unsafe for students, yet classes were still being conducted there. The students were rushed to Balod district hospital, where they are now in stable condition.

District Education Officer P C Markale, along with other officials, inspected the school post-incident. Despite previous orders to ensure students did not sit in unsafe buildings, it was discovered that some classes were held in the old building. An immediate suspension was enforced on the headmaster and cluster coordinator.
