CBSE Tightens Grip on 'Dummy Schools' with Surprise Inspections

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted a series of surprise inspections at 27 schools in Rajasthan and Delhi this Tuesday, targeting the 'dummy school' problem, top officials confirmed.

Following the cancellation of affiliations for 20 schools six months earlier for enrolling dummy students and ineligible candidates, the board decided on these stringent measures. The inspections, carried out simultaneously by 27 teams consisting of CBSE officers and principals from CBSE-affiliated schools, aimed to enforce strict adherence to CBSE's norms and bylaws.

'The inspections were meticulously planned and executed to maintain the element of surprise, ensuring the gathered information accurately reflects everyday school operations,' stated CBSE Secretary Himanshu Gupta. The findings will be thoroughly reviewed, with actions taken against non-compliant schools to ensure high standards are upheld.
