New Delhi, Sep 4 (PTI)—The Department of Education (DoE) in Delhi has issued a new circular ensuring that students seeking admission to classes nine and ten in government and government-aided schools will not face denial due to the absence of Aadhaar or bank account details.

According to the circular, all students assigned a school under the Non-Plan Admission process will be guaranteed admission, barring discrepancies in their documents. Students up to class eight will also be admitted throughout the academic year in age-appropriate classes as per the Right to Education Act (RTE).

The circular specifies that the admission process for students assigned schools during previous Non-Plan Admission cycles must be completed by September 16, 2024. Furthermore, age-appropriate admission criteria will not apply to students who have cleared their previous class from an accredited school or board during the 2023-24 academic year.

The DoE also stressed that mid-term transfers should be avoided unless approved by the Zonal or District Grievance Redressal Committee for legitimate reasons.
