A tragic house fire in western Arkansas has claimed the lives of three people, including two students from the Greenwood Public School district. The early morning blaze occurred shortly after midnight, according to a Facebook post by Greenwood Police, who have not yet released the victims' names or ages.
A fourth person is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Crews continued to examine the scene as of Wednesday morning. The school district is providing counseling services at each of its campuses to support the grieving community.
"Our deepest sympathies go out to the families involved," Greenwood Public Schools stated, expressing solidarity with affected students and staff. Greenwood is roughly 153 kilometers northwest of Little Rock.
