On Children's Day, celebrated on Jawaharlal Nehru's birthday, Vijayan remarked on this responsibility through a post on Facebook.

He acknowledged Nehru's foresight in prioritizing children's welfare as a key factor in national progress. Vijayan articulated the state's commitment to advance public education, citing significant improvements in recent years that garnered national recognition.
