Tamil Nadu's female students are achieving remarkable success in education and securing employment opportunities, with significant contributions from the DMK government's 'Pudhumai Penn' initiative, according to Chief Minister M K Stalin. He emphasized that girls are leading in academic performance and higher education enrollment nationwide, crediting their progress to pro-women policies.
The 'Pudhumai Penn' scheme, launched for students from class 6 to 12 in government and aided schools, provides a monthly financial grant of Rs 1,000 for those pursuing higher education. Since its inception, over 4,25,000 students have benefited, receiving a total of Rs 590.66 crores.
However, the initiative faces criticism from BJP state chief K Annamalai, who questioned the government's ability to ensure safety on college campuses. Despite the controversy, the DMK government remains committed to advancing women's educational and social opportunities in Tamil Nadu.
