Saudi Educator Wins Global Teacher Prize for Charitable Contributions

Mansour al-Mansour, a prominent Saudi educator and philanthropist, has been awarded the USD 1 million Global Teacher Prize. The accolade was announced at the World Governments Summit in Dubai, underscoring al-Mansour's significant impact in education and charity work. As an author and community leader, he has been instrumental in various initiatives, including a program ensuring air conditioning maintenance for residents during Saudi Arabia's extreme summers.

The Global Teacher Prize is facilitated by the Varkey Foundation, a non-profit organization established by Sunny Varkey, who also founded GEMS Education. This recognition highlights exceptional educators worldwide, with past winners including a Kenyan altruist and a Palestinian advocate for non-violence. Al-Mansour is now the ninth recipient since the award's inception in 2015.
