Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched a scathing attack on Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister MK Stalin on Friday. The heated exchange followed Stalin's resistance to the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), which Pradhan accuses of being politically motivated.

Pradhan, in his letter, urged Stalin to set aside political differences for the benefit of young learners. He argued that the NEP offers significant opportunities and resources, facilitating a flexible approach for states to adapt to local educational needs.

The row stems from Stalin's objection to linking centrally sponsored initiatives, such as Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan and PM SHRI Schools, to the NEP. Pradhan contended that this opposition undermines the spirit of cooperative federalism advocated by Modi's government, highlighting that NEP is a progressive reform, not a threat.
