The Himachal Pradesh government is set to partner with UNESCO to boost the quality, equity, and inclusivity of education across the state, announced Education Minister Rohit Thakur on Friday.

Thakur highlighted that an upcoming Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the state and UNESCO would focus on reforming the education system at various levels. This collaboration represents a commitment to address the temporary decline in education quality while enhancing infrastructure and learning facilities through the establishment of Rajiv Gandhi Day-Boarding Schools across all Assembly constituencies.

Secretary of Education, Rakesh Kanwar, stressed a unified approach in training educational staff for better results. Joyce Poan, UNESCO's Chief of Education, has expressed eagerness to initiate teacher training over a five-year period. Rajesh Sharma, Special Project Director, emphasized the state's ambition to create innovative and sustainable learning environments with UNESCO's support.
