Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has announced a sweeping educational reform plan, aiming to establish a unified Directorate of Education spanning from pre-nursery to class 12. The announcement comes amid efforts to implement smart classroom technology and systematic monitoring through the Chief Minister's Dashboard.
During a key function at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Memorial College in Hamirpur, Sukhu revealed plans to introduce MBA and MCA courses, along with postgraduate studies in History and Political Science by the next academic term. Additionally, enhancements such as the repair of the college's synthetic track and the construction of a hostel for 100 female students were also unveiled.
The Chief Minister highlighted a government commitment to tackling drug abuse with a zero-tolerance policy and targeting essential changes to counter previous educational missteps. Measures include rationalizing educational institutions, better financial management, and expanding opportunities for extracurricular engagement, especially in the realm of cultural activities, backed by a government grant.
