Educational Institutions Shut Amid Rising Indo-Pak Tensions

The Jammu and Kashmir government ordered a two-day closure of all educational institutions as a precaution following rising tensions between India and Pakistan. The decision came after India thwarted Pakistani drone and missile attacks on several key installations, leading to increased security concerns.

The government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced the closure of all schools, colleges, and universities for two days. This measure, set for Friday and Saturday, was confirmed by Education Minister Sakina Itoo and comes in light of prevailing security challenges.

The decision was triggered by an attempted strike by Pakistan, which involved drones and missiles targeting key Indian installations in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur. The attacks were successfully thwarted by the Indian defense forces Thursday night.

Tensions have been escalating between India and Pakistan following precision strikes by Indian forces on terror launchpads in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. This military action was in response to a recent brutal attack by terrorists in Pahalgam, resulting in the death of 26 civilians.
