Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has expressed solidarity with students at Haryana Agricultural University in Hisar, who are demonstrating against recent scholarship rule changes.
Kharge assured students via a video call that their concerns would be addressed in Parliament, urging them to continue their peaceful protest. Allegations have surfaced from the student body that the university's security personnel used excessive force, resulting in injuries to around 20 students.
The protest revolves around modifications to scholarship eligibility, shifting benefits from students with a 7.0 OGPA to merely the top 25% of performers. Kharge committed to advocating for the students in the upcoming parliamentary session, offering his full support.
