Reviving Tradition: Training Delhi's Educators in India's Rich Knowledge Systems

Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood has announced a pioneering program designed to immerse school teachers in the richness of India's traditional knowledge systems. This specialized training initiative, set to commence in September, will be conducted at two prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology.

The curriculum will cover a comprehensive range of subjects, from philosophy and Sanskrit to science and the revered ancient texts, including the Vedas and Upanishads. Additionally, the program will incorporate aspects of Ayurveda, Yoga, and other elements of India's cultural and intellectual legacy.

As part of the initial phase, fifty government school teachers will be carefully selected and divided into small groups. These educators will undergo concentrated training sessions of five to seven days at IIT-Mandi and IIT-Gandhinagar, aiming to knit closer ties between students and their cultural roots through their teachers.
