A 17-year-old student from the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Ongole was discovered dead in the hostel where he lived, with police officials reporting the act as an apparent suicide.
The body of the Pre-University Course (PUC) second-year student was hanging from the ceiling of Boys Hostel-1. Authorities recovered a handwritten note and a mobile message directed to his mother, expressing anguish and seeking pardon.
The student's academic records were noted to be above average by investigating officers, who have registered a case under Section 194 of BNSS as part of the ongoing inquiry.
