Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the 'Viksit Bharat Buildathon', marking an ambitious effort to engage students from classes 6-12 in tackling real-world challenges through innovative ideas. Dubbed the largest-ever school hackathon, this nationwide initiative kicked off with events across numerous schools.

The project mobilizes over one crore students from 2.5 lakh schools, encouraging them to ideate, design, and develop solutions under four major themes. Emphasizing the Buildathon not only as a competition but a movement for fostering innovation, Pradhan highlighted its importance. The winners will be celebrated in December following the September 23 launch by the Ministry of Education and the Atal Innovation Mission.

Participants are urged to join teams and think creatively about national themes: Aatmanirbhar Bharat for self-reliance, Swadeshi for indigenous innovation, Vocal for Local to boost local products, and Samriddhi aimed at prosperity and sustainability.
