A tragedy has struck the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) once again as the body of a first-year B Tech student, identified as Rahul Yadav from Raipur, was discovered hanging in his hostel room.

The incident, which occurred on Sunday, has raised alarms about student safety on the Bhubaneswar campus, marking the third such case this year. The police have begun a thorough investigation, seizing Yadav's mobile phone and laptop for clues.

BJP MLA Saroj Padhi underscored the gravity of the situation, vowing to urge the chief minister for stringent actions to prevent further tragedies. Meanwhile, KIIT has yet to comment on the incidents that are casting a shadow over its grounds.
