Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Friday urged for balanced modernization, emphasizing the preservation of inherent cultural and natural identities. Speaking at a college event, Shukla stated over-modernization could dilute original identities, stressing the need to embrace modernity without losing one's roots.

Addressing students at Rajkiya Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Shukla lauded the institution as a significant contributor to women's empowerment and inclusive education. He praised students' achievements in academics and extracurriculars like sports, culture, and social initiatives, and highlighted the college's alignment with the National Education Policy.

The governor also addressed the fight against drug abuse led by the college, which has an 'anti-chitta campaign' and is registered with the Youth Red Cross. Shukla also mentioned Russia's acknowledgment of India's leadership, urging commitment to the principle of 'nation first' for overall societal prosperity.
