In a heartening blend of cultural exchange, government school students in Varanasi are diving into Tamil, courtesy of the 'Tamil Karkalam' initiative under the Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0. The program, crafted by the Central Institute of Classical Tamil, aims to cultivate an appreciation for Tamil heritage among Hindi-speaking students.

Led by Tamil teacher Sandhya Saikrishnan at Government Queens Inter College, the initiative has equipped students to hold basic conversations in Tamil. With enthusiastic participation from students like Tanu Pal, excitement is palpable as the language bridges diverse cultures and fosters mutual understanding.

The program's outreach is expansive, targeting 3,000 students across Varanasi and nearby districts. Spearheaded by R Chandrasekaran, Director of the Central Institute, plans entail a quick and effective learning process, facilitated by a unique five-volume book series, thus nurturing the historical ties between Tamil Nadu and Varanasi.
