On a bustling Wednesday, the University of Delhi witnessed a record-breaking turnout of 2,28,781 students during its winter examination session under the National Education Policy (NEP) and choice-based credit system (CBCS). This volume underscores a substantial focus on undergraduate programs, with an astonishing 904 unique question papers distributed throughout the day.
The School of Open Learning (SOL), the University's distance education division, stood out by contributing significantly to the number of examinees, accounting for 65,413 undergraduate and 2,002 postgraduate participants. Combined with 1,61,366 regular undergraduate students, SOL represented almost 30 percent of the entire examinee pool, according to the University's exam branch report.
The morning session was particularly crowded, attracting more than twice the number of examinees than the afternoon slot. Officials confirmed that despite logistical challenges, exams across all centers proceeded smoothly. The morning session was the clear preference for examinees, as it drew 1,52,476 participants compared to 76,305 in the afternoon.
