Delhi University has announced significant educational reforms, including the introduction of one-year postgraduate programs across several departments, aligning with the National Education Policy 2020. The Academic Council approved these measures amid some dissent, focusing on expanding postgraduate education offerings and integrating online learning platforms.
Council member Monami Sinha highlighted concerns over the abrupt end to the meeting before decisions on courses like SWAYAM and MOOCs were finalized. These programs aim to offer students the flexibility to earn credits from various online educational platforms, increasing their learning scope.
The council's approval also includes international collaboration opportunities, such as the 'Semester Away Program,' which allows students to study abroad temporarily. Additionally, the introduction of super-specialty medical courses and new research guidelines mark further strides in DU's academic landscape.
