Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday took stock of the progress of a proposed school here named after his father and JMM founder Shibu Soren. The detailed project report (DPR) for the construction of the proposed Disom Guru Shibu Soren Residential School has been prepared, and identification of land is underway, officials informed the CM during a meeting earlier in the day. Shibu Soren died on August 4 last year at the age of 81. Children of martyred police personnel, the Army and Central Paramilitary Force (CPMF) will be given special priority at the school, a press release said. During the meeting, Soren stressed the need for quality education, modern facilities, and superior infrastructure at the school. ''Better residential facilities should be provided for students studying in Classes 6-12,'' he said. The chief minister also discussed with officials the operations at the upcoming hospital in Hotwar in Ranchi, which is dedicated to police families.
