The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) announced on Friday that it is intensively printing new Class 9 textbooks, crafted in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, to mitigate a temporary supply-demand imbalance.
Digital versions of these textbooks were made available for free access on NCERT's website two weeks ago. Despite challenges due to the high demand, NCERT is working swiftly to close the supply gap, ensuring that textbooks are available through a vendor network and e-commerce platforms.
The NCERT highlighted this transition to a new curriculum as a significant reform. Temporary supply constraints may arise, but mechanisms to swiftly address these issues are in place. The pending Social Science textbook will soon be completed and distributed to ensure comprehensive access.
