In a significant move to reform higher education in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi unveiled the 'ShaktiShree' mobile app and new internship guidelines on Saturday. These initiatives, announced at a national workshop, aim to bolster student safety and bridge the gap between academics and real-world industry needs.
The ShaktiShree app is designed to enhance safety and accessibility for female students, featuring 24/7 SOS alerts, harassment reporting, and mental health support. It connects users with internal complaints committees, reflecting the state's commitment to a safe educational environment.
The internship guidelines seek to prepare students for industry challenges by integrating academic work with practical exposure. This effort is in line with the National Education Policy 2020, which Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan described as a mission to position India at the forefront of global knowledge.
