Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday articulated a vision for Kashmir as a leading educational destination nationwide, leveraging its unparalleled beauty. After inaugurating a state-of-the-art multi-purpose indoor sports complex in Tangmarg's Government Degree College, Abdullah emphasized the potential for an educational hub to emerge in the region, drawing students from across India.
The event underscored youth empowerment within Jammu and Kashmir. Abdullah highlighted the pressing need for private universities to alleviate the financial burdens families face when sending children outside the region. Steps are in motion to establish these institutions, blending Kashmir's aesthetic allure with academic excellence.
The chief minister also launched the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan campaign, urging a collective stride towards a drug-free society. Initiatives underlining youth empowerment include governmental job facilitation, loan access without guarantees, and skill development programs, aiming for a self-reliant Jammu and Kashmir driven by its youth.
