The school authorities have been directed to readjust the increased fees in the 2026-27 academic session, he said. ''An analysis of fee hike over the past three years revealed that 92 out of 129 private schools in Ranchi violated the prescribed rules. Principals and representatives of all concerned schools have been instructed to readjust the fees in the monthly instalments of the ongoing 2026-27 academic session. The schools have been asked to submit a detailed fee adjustment plan within 15 days,'' Ranchi Deputy Commissioner (DC) Manjunath Bhajantri told reporters. Bhajantri held a meeting with principals and representatives of various private schools in the district regarding fee regulation and the admission of children from economically weaker and disadvantaged sections under the Right to Education (RTE) Act. The DC further added that out of a total of 149 CBSE and ICSE schools operating in the district, 129 schools have already constituted Parent-Teacher Associations (PTA) and Fee Management Committees (FMC). ''Action will be taken against the remaining 20 schools, which have not provided information regarding the formation of PTAs, as per the provisions of the Act,'' he said.
