The Ministry of Education has emphatically denied concerns that On-Screen Marking (OSM) affected the scores of CBSE class 12 students. According to School Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar, OSM has been a part of the CBSE’s marking system since 2014, aligning with international standards to ensure transparency in evaluation processes.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has also decreased the charges for answer sheet re-evaluation and verification. Additionally, more than 13,000 of the 98 lakh answer sheets were manually reviewed due to legibility issues, ensuring that the marking remained fair and reliable.
The decision to reintroduce OSM, which allows for cross-regional evaluation, was praised by representatives from private schools. This move towards technology-driven assessments is part of broader reforms aimed at transparency and affordability, ultimately ensuring that students receive the scores they deserve.
