Russia Seeks to Broaden Educational Collaboration with India, Says Diplomat

Russia is eager to expand its educational cooperation with India beyond universities to include schools and cultural programs, according to Russian envoy Denis Alipov. Alipov stressed the significance of extending cooperation to language and culture programs, which benefit young people's futures and the industries they aim to shape. Highlighting current steps, the envoy noted that Russian universities engage with Indian schools through online courses, Olympiads, and student exchange initiatives.

He emphasized the importance of a bilateral agreement for mutual recognition of educational qualifications to fully unlock the potential within this field. Russia already hosts approximately 300,000 international students, including 40,000 from India, with plans to increase this number significantly by 2030.
