Oklahoma: OKC, Mid-Del schools closed for second day due to power outage

Oklahoma school districts will remain closed for the second consecutive day on Wednesday as multiple schools faced power outages. Mid-Del Public schools administration said that at least 8 schools are without power or have partial power. Evening activities have also been canceled.
OKC Public schools also announced that all classes and activities have been canceled due to power outages.
The schools were also closed on Tuesday as thousands of residents in Oklahoma struggle without power after severe storms. Oklahoma's electric utility OG&E has said that the crews are continuously working to restore electricity in the area.
Mid-Del will be closed today and there will be no evening classes or activities. While OG&E has been working diligently to restore power throughout our communities, we currently have eight schools that are without power or have partial power. #mdpurpose #okwx

Latest figures by OG&E reveal that at least 49,000 customers are without power in Oklahoma, down from a peak number of 1,17,000.
