College students take out protest march, burn Shah's effigy Kozhikode/Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 12 (PTI): Hundreds of students of Farook college in Kozhikode took out a long march on Thursday against the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill here and burnt the effigy of Home minister, Amit Shah. Raising slogans against the BJP-led NDA government at the centre and holding placards saying "Boycott CAB", "Reject CAB" and "NRC Murdabad", the students, also burnt copies of the Bill.

The protest was organised by the college union. The Congress-led UDF opposition had also organised protests against the state and the central governments over various issues, including price rise of essential commodities, the "anti-people policy" of the state government and the CAB in front of the state Secretariat.

The UDF protest in Thiruvananthapuram was inaugurated by by leader of the opposition in the Kerala assembly, Ramesh Chennithala. Protests were held in front of all collectorates.

The ruling CPI (M) will be taking out protest marches to the central government offices on Friday against the CAB, according to party sourcse..
