Avengers 4: Why did Captain Marvel not arrive before?

The end of "Avengers: Infinity War" opened a series of questions among Marvel fans around a great diversity of aspects, among which the way in which Thanos would be defeated occupies a prominent place.

However, another aspect of great importance that has gone unnoticed so far is the future appearance of Captain Marvel along with another much more specific: why Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) waited until the end to call her.

As you remember, the post-credits scene of "Avengers: Infinity War" shows Fury sending a message of help to Captain Marvel just before vanishing because of Thanos' 'snap'. Long before that moment -from the attack on New York by Thanos's children- Fury should have already had it was clear that the Earth was facing a severe crisis.

The information so far indicates that the feature film "Captain Marvel" will be set in the 90s and will show Nick Fury being much younger. It is in this film where the strong man of SHIELD meets the superheroine, which would be the first meeting of Fury with a character of this type.

The theory explains that during the closing of "Avengers: Infinity War" the face of Nick Fury inspires confidence despite the fact that he is watching Maria Hill disintegrate before his eyes.

The spy seems to know what he has to do and that is why he immediately took the communicator with the one who calls Captain Marvel, which would give to understand that he was ready for that event.

The other part of the arguments indicates that Tony Stark has a crucial role in the development of subsequent events and that is why Nick Fury would have always paid attention and care.

For the author of this theory is striking a dialogue that Stark and Fury maintain in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" where the latter let's see this facet: "I'm not anyone's director, I'm just an old man who cares a lot about you "

What "Capitana Marvel" could show is that Fury has seen or been told what will end up happening in "Avengers: Infinity War". It is in that vision of the future that the agent would have learned that a subject called Iron Man will be responsible for saving the universe. The other possibility is that Fury has seen a previous event very similar to the 'snap'.

In the first instance, it is strange that Nick Fury makes such comments, considering that he himself is not a person prone to establish strong links with others and that the egocentric Iron Man does not seem to be his first choice to create such bonds.

It would not be a coincidence that Fury was presented to Stark exactly after he revealed to the world that is Iron Man. It is in the post-credits scene of "Iron Man", where the spy talks to Tony about the world of superheroes and the "Avengers Initiative".

All these ideas fit quite well with another theory, which indicates that Doctor Strange would have planned for Iron Man to stay alive, as he would be the only one capable of using the Time Gem - sent to the future and back to the past - to stop Thanos after his victory.

Finally, what could have happened in the past that will show "Captain Marvel" is that Fury knows that the heroine will be needed right then and that is why he did not call her during the previous crises.

As is known, Captain Marvel has a close relationship with the alien race of the Kree, previously seen in "Guardians of the Galaxy", which maintain a millennial war with the Skrull.

Kevin Feige, the man behind the Marvel film universe, has pointed out that many elements of the fictional War Kree-Skrull seen in the comics will be used in "Captain Marvel"

The appearance of these alien races could have resulted in Carol Danvers having to go into space for years, which would explain why the heroine has not participated in the conflicts with which the Avengers fought.
