Titanic director, James Cameron is finally inching closer to complete the production of Avatar 2. It has been 12 years since the amazing success of the first Avatar movie, which made Avatar 2 one of the most anticipated sci-fi movies of the decade.

James Cameron is working simultaneously on Avatar 2, Avatar 3, Avatar 4 and Avatar 5. Preliminary shooting for the film started in Manhattan Beach, California on August 15, 2017, followed by principal photography simultaneously with Avatar 3 in New Zealand on September 25, 2017; filming concluded in late September 2020, after over three years of shooting.

The famous actor Vin Diesel has recently hinted MTV News that he may be seen in the upcoming installment of James Cameron's movie Avatar 2. He was asked, "There has been talk that you might pop up in an Avatar film."

"I have spent time with him, but I have not filmed yet. I love James Cameron and I love the series. I think it's safe to say that we will be working together," said Fast & Furious actor.

Avatar 2’s filming is already complete. It is set 13 years after the events of the first film. Jake Sully and Neytiri have formed a family and staying together. While they were living happily, suddenly the old threats would return and finish everything that they had started. They would be forced to leave their home and explore the different regions of Pandora.

The cast members such as Sam Worthington, Giovanni Ribisi, Moore, Dileep Rao, CCH Pounder, Zoe Saldana, Joel David, Stephen Lang and Matt Gerald are returning to reprise their role in Avatar 2. The new cast members include Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Jemaine Clement, Oona Chaplin, Edie Falco, Vin Diesel, Brendan Cowell, CJ Jones and Michelle Yeoh.

On the other hand, Michelle Yeoh has recently shared what it is like to work with James Cameron. “I said to James ‘I don’t know why I’m here, I’m here because you’re a genius and I am the biggest fan. I mean, I would be your coffee lady. I would just come here and sit down and watch you’ because he really is a genius. He’s created these amazing worlds and there’s just no end to it. You just sit there in awe and listen, and he’s very giving and sharing, so it makes life so easy,” Michelle Yeoh opined.

Steven Gould has been hired to write four novels based on the four Avatar sequels, starting with Avatar 2. After several media outlets shared rumors of potential titles for the Avatar sequels, including Avatar: The Way of Water for Avatar 2, James Cameron confirmed that the titles mentioned were "among titles that are in consideration, but no final decisions have been made yet."
