Haikyuu!! Season 5: Is it still in works & what to expect?

The anime series “Haikyu!!” has made a name for itself as one of the most popular sports anime worldwide. It is not only popular Joe Public but has received positive reviews from critics, won several awards and broken several viewership records. Season 4 was released on December 19, 2020, and by November 2020, Haikyu!! had over 50 million copies in circulation. With all that, it’s obvious that Haikyuu!! Season 5 is one of the most anticipated Japanese anime series.

Fans believe HaiKyuu!! Season 5 could take more time to be out, as the fourth season was delayed due to the pandemic. While there is no official announcement on Haikyuu!! Season 5, the English version Twitter account of the anime series conveyed the message that they are "Looking forward to the continuation."

In the post, they also thanked the "Haikyu!! anime team for their continued hard work."

Although there is no announcement on its renewal, it is likely the show will be renewed, if only for its extreme popularity. Besides, if we remember at the end of June 2020, a music producer in Japan, Yoshiki Kobayashi reportedly informed that recording for the Haikyuu!! Season 5 had already started.

However, it’s really hard to guess when Haikyuu!! Season 5 will arrive. The anime followed the story of a high school volleyball team and the relationship between the players. ShōyōHinata is the main character of the story, who wants to be the best volleyball player in the team despite his short height. The story also highlighted the friendship and rivalries of the characters.

At the end of the fourth run, Hinata missed to score a point in a match and he became distressed for it. TobioKageyama gives him the last warning that if he misses points once again, the team will never set the ball for him. Haikyuu!! Season 5 might show the match between Karasuno High and Nekoma High. Hinata will go to Karasuno High School to learn Volleyball and even qualify for nationals.

Haikyuu!! Season 5 could also come with a fresh story. One of the Reddit users predicts "Make season 5 the Nekoma match, and a shorter season. May be 9 episodes for this match. If they want, they could tack the Mujinazaka/Fukurodani match on at the end to bump up the episode count to like 11-12."

If the story continues from the end of the fourth season, then most of the voice cast might return in season 5. This includes RyuseiNakao (as TanjiWashijo), NobuyuriSagara (Hisashi Kinoshita), Hiroshi Kamiya (Ittetsu Takeda), Yu Miyazaki (SachiroHirugmai), Jun Nazuka (AranOjiro), Hideaki Kabumoto (Osamu Miya), YoshimasaHosoya (Asahi Azumane), AyumuMurase (ShoyoHinata), Nobuhiko Okamoto (Yu Nishinoya), MamuroMiyano (AtsumuMiya), Kaito Ishikawa (TobioKageyama), and Yuu Hayashi (Ryunoksuke Tanaka).
