Prime Video shares first look from 'Citadel: Diana'

Streamer Prime Video on Friday unveiled the first look of actor Matilda De Angelis from the Italian chapter of its ''Citadel'' Spyverse.

Angelis, best known for featuring in HBO series “The Undoing” alongside Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant, plays the lead role in ''Citadel: Diana'', which will debut on Prime Video in 2024, the streamer said in a statement.

The spy franchise launched with Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas-led ''Citadel'', which started streaming on Prime Video in April. ''Citadel'' follows elite agents Mason Kane (Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Chopra Jonas), who had their memories wiped as they narrowly escaped with their lives after independent global spy agency Citadel's fall.

Mason is later tracked down by his former Citadel colleague who desperately needs his help to prevent rival agency Manticore from establishing a new world order.

The American show's final episode, which dropped on Prime Video on Friday, includes a post-credits teaser of ''Citadel: Diana'', providing a glimpse of the things to come in the spy franchise.

The Italian series is directed by Arnaldo Catinari and developed by Alessandro Fabbri, who is also the head writer. The writing team also includes Ilaria Bernardini, Laura Colella, Gianluca Bernardini, and Giordana Mari. Showrun by Gina Gardini, ''Citadel: Diana'' will also feature Lorenzo Cervasio, Maurizio Lombardi, Julia Piaton, Thekla Reuten, Daniele Paoloni, Bernhard Schütz, and Filippo Nigro. The series is backed by Italian banner Cattleya, which is part of ITV Studios.

Besides ''Citadel'' and ''Citadel: Diana'', an Indian chapter is also being developed by Prime Video with actors Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. ''Farzi'' creators Raj & DK are on board as directors and showrunners for the Indian installment.
