Jammu & Kashmir Prepares for Kheer Bhawani Mela and Eid-ul-Adha
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reviewed preparations for the Kheer Bhawani Mela and Eid-ul-Adha in Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring adequate water, power, medical facilities, sanitation, and security. Senior officials attended a high-level meeting to discuss essential measures and comprehensive arrangements for the smooth conduct of these festivals.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday reviewed the preparations for the forthcoming Kheer Bhawani Mela and Eid-ul-Adha festivals in the union territory.
Sinha led a high-level meeting to assess the readiness of District Administrations and various departments ahead of the notable Mata Kheer Bhawani Mela and Eid-ul-Adha celebration, according to an official spokesperson.
Present at the meeting were Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, DGP R R Swain, and other senior officials from the police and civil administration.
The Lt Governor instructed the deputy commissioners and senior superintendents of police to visit key religious locations and ensure all necessary measures are in place for the smooth and peaceful observance of these auspicious events.
Sinha emphasized the need for thorough arrangements regarding water and power supply, medical services, fire and emergency services, sanitation, and cleanliness.
He highlighted the importance of comprehensive security measures, effective traffic and crowd management, designating suitable parking areas, conducting regular market checks, and ensuring the availability of essential commodities at regulated prices in the markets.
Sinha urged the Divisional Commissioners and Relief Commissioner to work in close coordination to ensure a pleasant experience for devotees during the Mata Kheer Bhawani Mela.
He stressed that all arrangements, including transportation, accommodation, power and water supply, sanitation, medical aid, fire and emergency services, waterproof tents, and security, should be in place well in advance.
The Lt Governor instructed relevant Deputy Commissioners to conduct on-spot assessments of the facilities at the shrine and identify any additional requirements for the comfortable stay of devotees.
Regarding transportation of pilgrims, the Lt Governor directed the concerned authorities to take necessary measures and make provisions to tackle any weather-related issues during the Mela to prevent inconvenience to the pilgrims.
