Assam Celebrates International Yoga Day with Statewide Events

Assam celebrated International Yoga Day with numerous events across the state. Leaders like Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal participated. The celebrations highlighted yoga’s importance for health and wellness, with the Assam Police and educational institutions also hosting yoga camps.

Assam joined the nation in celebrating International Yoga Day on Friday, organizing numerous events across the state.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal actively participated in yoga sessions held in various parts of the northeastern region. Sarma shared on X, 'Yoga for a Fit India, Yoga for All,' while promoting the 10th International Day of Yoga celebrations in Tezpur.

Sonowal participated in an event in Tinsukia, emphasizing yoga’s role in fostering a healthy society. He encouraged everyone to integrate yoga into their lives for societal betterment. The Assam Police also took part by organizing yoga camps at multiple locations, engaging officers and personnel in the practice.

Educational institutions across the state, including schools, held similar yoga sessions, reinforcing the importance of this ancient practice in promoting fitness and well-being.
