The highly anticipated Tamil film 'Indian 2' hit theatres on Friday, marking the reunion of Kamal Haasan and director S Shankar after a 28-year hiatus, receiving mixed reviews.

'Indian 2,' a sequel to the 1996 cult classic 'Indian,' is seen as a comeback for Shankar following writer Sujatha's death in 2008. The original film's score by A R Rahman has been complemented by Anirudh's music in this sequel.

Kamal Haasan reprises his role as Senapathy, known as 'Indian Thatha,' who combats corruption using the ancient Indian martial art of 'varma kalai.' The film's team faced numerous questions about the decision to depict Senapathy as 106 years old and defended the idea by referencing a real 120-year-old martial artist. The movie, produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies, also stars Siddharth, S J Suryah, and others.
