Renowned Urdu Historian Rafat Qureshi Passes Away at 78
Eminent historian and Urdu writer Rafat Qureshi, originally from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, passed away in Canada at 78 after a prolonged illness. Known for his extensive work on Aurangabad's history and heritage monuments, he authored several notable works, including Aurangabad Nama with his art historian wife, Dulari Qureshi.

Eminent historian and Urdu writer Rafat Qureshi, who hailed from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad), died on Friday in Canada at the age of 78 after a prolonged illness, a family member said.
Residing in Ontario for the past several years, Qureshi had not been keeping well for the last three to four months, according to kin.
Qureshi wrote extensively on the history of Aurangabad and its heritage monuments, including a travelogue titled 'Mulk-E Khude Tangneest', which contained crucial information on Ajanta and Ellora Caves and the Quile-e-Arc built by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
'Aurangabad Nama', a book co-written with his art historian wife Dulari Qureshi, was published recently.
