Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi, Chief Minister M K Stalin, and Indian Army veterans on Friday honored the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the 1999 Kargil war.

Governor Ravi, accompanied by army veterans, laid wreaths at the Victory War Memorial, celebrating India's triumphant victory over Pakistan.

Ravi said, 'On Kargil Vijay Diwas, we proudly salute our heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice defending Bharat Mata.' The governor's message emphasized the national celebration of India's military prowess and the enduring spirit of its people.

Chief Minister Stalin echoed these sentiments: 'On the 25th Kargil Victory Day, we honor the unparalleled bravery and sacrifice of our soldiers.'

Lt Col N Thiagarajan, reflecting on the event, remembered the 527 soldiers who lost their lives and the 1,363 wounded in the conflict. He underlined India's strategic success and the thwarting of Pakistan's peace-disrupting attempts.

Thiagarajan poignantly remarked, 'Our flag flies with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it.' His tribute continued with inspiring stories of soldiers' bravery shared with NCC members, highlighting leadership and patriotism.
