NCPA and HSBC Unite for India's Biggest Music Festival - Bandish
Mumbai's National Centre for Performing Arts and HSBC India are organising Bandish, India's largest music festival from August 2nd to 4th, 2024. The event will celebrate legendary Indian composers, featuring performances by renowned artists from both pre- and post-independence periods, showcasing India's rich musical traditions.
Mumbai, 29th July 2024 - In a remarkable union, The National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) and HSBC India are set to host Bandish, India's largest Indian Music Festival. The three-day event will span August 2nd to 4th and promises to take attendees on a musical journey through India's vast classical and folk traditions.
The festival will kick off at Tata Theatre with a riveting performance by legendary dhrupad singers Umakant Gundecha and Anant Ramakant Gundecha, featuring compositions from historical icons like Tansen and Baiju. Additionally, Sanjeev Abhyankar of the Mewati gharana will present Khayal and other classical forms.
The second day will feature Malini Awasthi’s semi-classical and folk renditions at Tata Theatre, while the grand finale at Jamshed Bhabha Theatre will showcase pieces from legendary composers Naushad and Madan Mohan.
