Authorities have detained a 17-year-old male on suspicion of murder and attempted murder following the incident at the 'Taylor Swift yoga and dance workshop' in Southport, near Liverpool, during a summer vacation event for children aged six to 11.

Police confirmed the death of a third child who succumbed to injuries sustained during the attack and identified the victims as Bebe King, aged 6, Elsie Dot Stancombe, aged 7, and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, aged 9. 'Keep smiling and dancing like you love to do our Princess...' read a heart-rending statement from Aguiar's family. The families of the victims conveyed their devastation and grief. Eight other children also sustained stab wounds, with five remaining in critical condition. Two adults were critically injured while attempting to protect the children. Eyewitnesses described the scene as reminiscent of a horror film.

'The horror of yesterday's attack in Southport is washing over me continuously and I'm just completely in shock,' Swift wrote on Instagram. 'These were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families.' In response, her fans raised more than 125,000 pounds ($160,000) online to help victims' families and the hospital treating some of the children. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer labeled the attack 'horrendous,' while King Charles and his family expressed their shock. Despite avid speculation on social media, Merseyside Police clarified that the suspect, born in Cardiff, was a lone attacker and urged against online speculation. Starmer paid a somber visit to the scene, laying flowers and meeting first responders. The attack has reignited concerns over Britain's rising knife crime.
