Oscars may bring honor, but they don't necessarily bring work, says celebrated music composer MM Keeravaani, who recently won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for 'Naatu Naatu' from 'RRR'.

In an exclusive interview with PTI, Keeravaani emphasized that competence, not accolades, ensures a successful career in the music industry. "Winning an Oscar is an additional honor, but honor never brings work to you. It's only competence that brings work to you," he stated.

Keeravaani has had a fruitful career spanning over three decades, collaborating with distinguished directors like SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Bhatt. He underscores the significance of having a strong rapport with directors, noting that such relationships enhance the quality of work.
