Unveiling IP PLAN 2024: Elevating Chinese Stories on Global Platforms

The 'Image Possibilities' Coproduction Plan (IP PLAN) 2024 was launched in Changsha on July 30th, assembling a diverse group of international directors, producers, industry representatives, academic experts, and media for its official kickoff.

Du Zhanyuan, President of China International Communications Group, expressed excitement over the planned collaborations between Chinese and foreign filmmakers, stressing the importance of sharing China's culture and development through authentic storytelling on a global scale.

The launch featured valuable insights from IP PLAN mentors Vikram Channa and British filmmaker Arthur Jones, who both discussed their experiences in international coproduction. Malcolm Clarke, a British documentary filmmaker, emphasized the essential roles of trust and creativity in effectively narrating Chinese stories.

IP PLAN is designed as a comprehensive production program, inviting both original concepts and completed films. Selected projects will benefit from professional training, production support, and potential broadcasts on CCTV-9 and other international platforms.

The initiative, jointly organized by China International Communications Group, CCTV-9, and Discovery Channel, seeks to foster global collaboration, promote cultural exchange, and highlight China's cultural richness through compelling visual stories. Submissions are open until August 31st.
