Young Tourist Missing After Boat Collision in Saryu River

A 22-year-old woman named Kashish Singh went missing after a boat carrying tourists collided with another boat and capsized in the Saryu river near the ghat in Ayodhya. Nine people were rescued, and the search operation for the missing tourist is still ongoing.

A 22-year-old woman went missing following a boat collision in the Saryu river near the ghat in Ayodhya, police revealed on Saturday.

Nine other tourists were rescued from the scene where the boats capsized, according to authorities.

'The incident transpired on Friday evening when a small boat carrying tourists overturned after colliding with another boat near Aarti Sthal,' Ayodhya Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajkaran Nayyar told PTI. Ten individuals, including the boatman, fell into the river, he stated.

The boatman and eight tourists were successfully rescued by diver teams deployed at the site, Nayyar confirmed. 'One tourist, Kashish Singh (22) from Firozabad district, is still missing. Our teams are actively searching for her,' the officer reported.

He added that all passengers, including the missing woman, were wearing life jackets.
