Daring Forest Rescue: Stranded Workers Airlifted to Safety

Two rescue workers, stranded near the Soochipara waterfalls while searching for bodies from a landslide, were airlifted to safety by the Indian Air Force. Numerous rescue teams are still searching the forest and river areas. Injuries and fatigue had prevented the workers from climbing down.

In a daring operation, two rescue workers stranded near the Soochipara waterfalls were airlifted to safety by an Indian Air Force helicopter on Saturday.

The workers had ventured deep into the landslide-affected Munadakkai region to recover bodies and got stranded near the waterfalls.

Numerous rescue teams continue to comb the forest and river areas for any remaining deceased from the July 30 landslide.
